Are you interested in serving the community by being a member of the Somerset Village Board? Due to a recent vacancy, the Village of Somerset is currently accepting applications for Village Trustee. Regular Village Board meetings are held on the third Tuesday of each month at 6:00 p.m. Each Village Board Trustee is assigned to serve on 1 standing committee that meets monthly.

The Somerset Board of Trustees will appoint an individual to fill the seat until the April 2026 Spring Election, at which point the appointed trustee will have the option to run for a two-year term.

Any interested Village of Somerset resident, who is a minimum of 18 years old and a legal citizen of the United States, is hereby welcomed to submit a letter of interest to be considered for appointment to the Village Board. Please include in your letter of interest:

1) Why you are interested in serving on the Somerset Village Board

2) Qualifications that you feel would make you an effective trustee

3) Prior municipal and/or community service

4) Your respective goals/priorities if appointed to the Board for the duration of the unexpired term
